Students of the Month
Drake Raider is our student of the month in Mrs. Terhaar’s room. Drake is showing great improvements in kindergarten! He comes walking into school ready to begin his day! Drake is improving by using much better manners such as apologizing for bumping into someone and can say I’m sorry to teachers and students. He enjoys being with his friends at school. He smiles and interacts so much more during story time and lessons in the classroom. I am proud of Drake’s accomplishments and am so happy to have Drake in my kindergarten classroom! Keep up the good work!!!
The student of the month for Mrs. Ridgway’s class is Mr. Nathaniel Ruble. Nathaniel is one of those students that has natural leadership skills that are amazing for a teacher. He can influence the class in a positive way without even knowing what he’s doing or that he’s helping me! Nathaniel is a very good and helpful friend, also! If he sees someone who’s in need he goes straight to their aid, and doesn’t stop until they feel better or understand their work. One thing that I can say about Nathaniel is how ambitious he is when completing a task. Even though he likes to be a good friend and talk, he makes sure to finish all of his work in a speedy manner, first! I appreciate all of his help in the classroom, and enjoy getting to see his smiling face when he walks in the door every morning! Congrats and keep up the good work, buddy!
Cora Miller is the student of the month in Mrs. Woodbury’s first grade classroom. Cora is a very responsible student. She is caring and helpful to others. Cora loves to learn and is always challenging herself. I am glad to have Cora in my first grade classroom.
Grayson McQueen is the student of the month for Mrs. Randall’s first grade class. I can count on Grayson to have his homework complete and assignment sheet signed. His eagerness to read chapter books has sparked a light for other students to grow as readers and be able to read more difficult books. In xtramath, he has passed his addition facts which sets a goal for others to work and achieve. Grayson is willing to help fellow classmates that need a helping hand. He is willing to share his ideas and stories during class conversations that add to the learning environment. I have enjoyed having him in my classroom and watching me grow. I look forward to observing the accomplishments he will achieve the rest of the year.

Joselyn Smith has the honor of being student of the month for December, for Room 421, in our 5th grade classroom. Joselyn is one of the nicest students I have had in my classroom over the past 27 years at Randolph Southern. At first you would think she is very quiet, but as she gets more comfortable in situations you can quickly see the fire in her eyes and the spirit in which she undertake things, come out. Joselyn and her family are very involved in activities and sports at RS and are wonderful role models of what true Rebels should be; caring, supportive, and involved. Joselyn works so hard at school and truly gives her best effort each and every day. I am so proud of her for getting chosen as our student of the month and being a positive role model in our school.
Mrs. Meyer has selected Alyssa Snowden as Student of the Month. Alyssa does an outstanding job working to further build her learing each day. She diligently listens to directions and works hard to complete tasks with phenomenal effort. Without a doubt, she always completes things a little bit better than the time before. Alyssa does a great job of cooperating with others and is always an excellent team player during group work. Perhaps her best quality is the consideration she has for others. Thank you Alyssa for being a great role model at RSE!
Mrs. Markley would like to nominate James Callaway as the Student of the Month for December from Room 432 in 6th grade. James has made huge gains this year in the classroom. He is doing well in Mrs. Myer’s room for Reading. He had his book project completed weeks before the deadline and has scored high enough on his tests that he gets to go to the high school library now as an incentive. In math, James is working hard in his group with Mrs. Smith. James has showed good growth on his winter NWEA scores this week. He has grown over twenty points in both Math and Reading. I am super proud of James, and I hope he continues to push himself through the rest of the year.

He has willingly learned lines just to have his part changed multiple times with no complaint. He is respectful and kind to all. I am proud to call him the Music Student of the Month.
Evelynn Atkins is my student of the month. Evelynn always does her best work and is excited about the progress she has made toward her goals. She never complains about homework and often asks for it because she knows it will help her accomplish her goals faster. I have seen significant progress toward her goals and cannot wait to see her succeed. Talking to Evelynn during speech is a blessing. Great work Evelynn. The student chosen this month by Mr. Murray is Wesley Cottongim. Wesley is new to Mr. Murray’s classroom this year, and it has been so much more fun since he has joined! Wesley is one who always follows directions and wants to help others. He is kind, considerate, and an eager learner! Wesley works so hard whenever he is in the classroom.
